Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 14, 2026
This policy explains what data Major Scrims collects on majorscrims.com and through the bot in our Discord server, what it is used for, where it is stored and how you can request deletion. We only collect what the community needs to work.
1Who we are
Major Scrims is a competitive Fortnite practice community in Brazil and Latin America. We are responsible for the data described here. We are not affiliated with Epic Games or Discord.
2What we collect
- Discord login: account identifier (Discord ID), username and avatar. We only request the "identify" scope — we have no access to your email, messages or server list.
- Server bot, only for members who hold the Verified role: Discord ID, username, server nickname (used as the Epic Games name), avatar URL, the roles you hold in our server, and the dates verification was granted or removed. The bot uses the Server Members intent for this; it does not use the Message Content or Presence intents and does not read messages.
- The server's role list (name, color, position and member count), so staff can choose who takes part in each tournament.
- Scrim statistics: points (XP), matches, eliminations and wins per season, linked to your Discord ID, plus a daily record of your position and XP in the current season.
- Tournament usage: the drop spot your team marked, spots you drew on the map, comments and likes.
- Contact form: name, the contact you provide (email or Discord), subject and message. From your IP address we only keep a one-way hash, used to limit abuse — never the IP itself.
- Website usage statistics, collected by us without third-party analytics tools: pages visited, time on page, device type, language, country (estimated from the IP address, which is not stored) and the referring site. Visitors who are not logged in are counted with a code that changes every day, without cookies; logged-in users are counted by account. A temporary session code is kept only in the browser tab and disappears when it is closed.
- Essential cookies: a session cookie to keep you logged in and a cookie storing your chosen language. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking tools.
3How we use it
We do not sell, rent or share your data for advertising.
- To grant website access only to verified members of our Discord server.
- To decide who can mark drop spots in each tournament and who has staff permissions.
- To build the leaderboard and your statistics dashboard.
- To answer contact form messages and protect the site against spam and abuse.
- To understand which parts of the website are used most, so we can improve what matters to the community.
4What is public
Some information is public by the nature of a competition: your nickname and statistics on the leaderboard and on your public player profile (position, rank, season progress, achievements and tournaments you marked a spot in), your team name on tournament maps and the comments you post. Your Discord ID is never displayed on the website: profile addresses use a code that cannot be traced back to it.
5Where data is stored and how we protect it
Data is stored in a MongoDB Atlas database, with access restricted to the project owners and encrypted connections. The website is hosted on Vercel and the bot runs on our own server. Tokens and passwords are kept only in environment variables, never in source code.
These providers may process technical data, such as access logs, outside Brazil under their own policies. The verification screen embeds YouTube videos, which are subject to Google's policy.
6How long we keep it
- Members who lose the Verified role or leave the server lose website access immediately.
- Once a month, during our monthly data review, we delete the records of members who left the server or are no longer verified.
- Statistics from finished seasons are kept as competition history unless you ask for deletion.
- Contact messages are kept while needed to handle your request.
- Detailed website usage records are deleted automatically after 35 days. After that only daily totals remain, without identifying anyone; the days each account used the website are kept for up to 400 days.
7Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, in line with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD). Send your request through the contact page on our website or open a ticket in our Discord server. We reply and, where applicable, delete the data within 30 days.
Deleting your verification data ends your website access until you verify again.
8Minimum age
You must meet the minimum age required by Discord and Epic Games in your country to use the website. If you are the guardian of a minor and want their data deleted, contact us through the contact page.
9Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we update this page and the date at the top. Important changes are also announced in our Discord server.
